New Hasbro Q&A Session!
Check out our next round of questions below and if you have any burning Indy questions for the fine folks at Hasbro, be sure to post in our forums or e-mail us and let us know!
IndianaJonesCollectors: With The Last Crusade hitting shelves now and the Temple of Doom wave hitting in September, what else can we expect from the 3 3/4" Indiana Jones line in 2008? We've seen pictures of two new deluxe sets (Mutt w/ Bike & Cairo Thugs) and the Akator Playset, anything else to look forward to in 2008?
Hasbro: We have indeed been front-loaded this year, as expected for a movie year. The next news for 3-3/4" will be in Spring 2009, and we should have pics to preview at Comic Con.
IJC: Do you have any plans to release Temple of Doom deluxe sets? I think items such as the sacrifice cage or the mine car would go great with any collection!
H: We agree, and there is a good chance at least one of those items will make it out in 2009.
IJC: How soon do you plan on releasing the second wave of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull basic figures? Are any of the following characters on your radar: Mac, Oxley, Army disguised Russians or the Alien? I would think all would be logical choices!
H: There will be a few more KOTCS figures later in 2009. A couple of your figures are in the works.
Thanks Hasbro! Be sure to post in our forums or e-mail us questions for the next session! Also check out the message below from the Hasbro Star Wars Team:
We have created two files to help folks at home anticipate and plan for our big Star Wars 7/26 launch. These files will be available for download at starwars.hasbro.com next Wednesday 7/16.
They are: 1. The "Hasbro Clone Wars Handbook" details almost everything that will be available 7/26 and over the course of the Fall for Clone Wars, with images of all basic figures, vehicles, exclusives, and more. 2. As the Handbook focuses on Clone Wars, and does not have actual anticipated on-shelf dates breakdowns of figures by wave, we have crafted a second companion spreasheet titled the "Hasbro Star Wars Fall 2008 Release Guide". This Excel spreadsheet details Clone War and Legacy Collection information, along with availability dates and wave breakdowns, so all collectors will know what to focus on when. Available 7/16 for download at starwars.hasbro.com!
IJC Review: Mickey Mouse “Indiana Jones”
Star Tours has been a major longtime component of the Magic Kingdom’s affiliation with Star Wars, so it was only a matter of time before Indiana Jones was brought into the mix. However, rather than creating a whole new action figure line like Star Tours, Disney chose to commemorate Kingdom of the Crystal Skull by releasing a PVC figurine of Mickey Mouse dressed in the costume of Indiana Jones. While a quick first glance may suggest nothing more than a simple trinket meant to cash in on the timely popularity of the Indy franchise, there are several surprises lurking inside the blister card. IJC Joins the Hasbro Q&A Sessions!
IJC now joins the Bi-Monthly Hasbro Question and Answer Sessions, check out our first three questions below and if you have any burning Indy questions for the fine folks at Hasbro, be sure to post in our forums or e-mail us and let us know!
IndianaJonesCollectors: I know they originally said that the Last Crusade figures were due out in July, but now everywhere I look, it sounds like they'll be out sometime in June? When should we start to look for these on the pegs?
Hasbro: The exact date a wave arrives at retail is always tricky to pin down since when we forecast dates we allow time for shipment and dissemination from retail distribution centers in sizeable quantities. It's always possible that some retailers can get a small quantity out faster, and figures could start showing up by the end of the months. Based on our latest schedules they are on the water and due to land any day now in the States, and will find their way to retail in the next few weeks.
IJC: Well now that I have all of the 12" figures that are out, I'm anxiously awaiting the new batch!!! I know that Dovchenko will be released from KOTCS, but can you fill us in on what is next in the 12" line? I would love to see:
RAIDERS: Sallah, Belloq, Katanga, German mechanic TEMPLE: Mola Ram, Chether Lal, Indy in tux, Thugee, Lao Che CRUSADE: Henry Jones, Sr., Indy, Walter Donovan, Grail Knight KOTCS: Irina Spalko, Mac, Ugha Warrior, Crystal Skeleton
Any scoop? Preview Pics? Updates?
H: More goodness awaits for those who are patient! At least four of those are planned by ealy 2009, so hang in there. More details will be revealed at Comic-Con International.
IJC: We've heard talks of Indiana Jones Battle Packs. Which movies and or scenes will be represented in the battle packs? Will they be just standard figure battle packs, or can we expect other accessories like we see with some of the Star Wars Battle Packs. Opening of the Ark Battle Pack with Ark ghosts would be way cool!
H: Details on the initial Battle Packs, which will be retailer exclusives, will be revealed at Comic-Con International. Like our first Star Wars Battle Packs, the IJ Battle Packs will start out with primarily existing character decos, delivered in a combination that makes a complete play pattern for kids and kids alike.
Thanks Hasbro! Be sure to post in our forums or e-mail us questions for the next session!

San Diego Comic Con LEGO Indy Exclusive!
Posted at FBTB.com:
Just got this in an email; this year's San Diego Comic Con exclusive is not going to be Star Wars as I had hoped, but will be Indiana Jones-themed instead. Here's a teaser image:
Indiana Jones Collectors Review: Rene Belloq (Ark Ceremony) The best villains are those who are the dark reflection of the hero. These villains have moral codes and motivations that perfectly clash with those of the hero. These are the villains that make for great storytelling, and the pantheon of cinema is filled with them. Sherlock Holmes had Professor Moriarity. Batman had the Joker. Indiana Jones had Rene Belloq. Indy’s equal in many ways, Belloq was the dark reflection of Dr. Henry Jones Jr. Where Indiana sought knowledge, Belloq sought fortune. Where Indiana valued truth and fairness, Belloq dealt in lies and deceit. Where Indiana placed faith in science and empirical data, Belloq placed faith in the spiritual and supernatural. It is that faith which drove Belloq to find the lost Ark of the Covenant. Dressed in ceremonial garb, he opened the Ark and found a power beyond his expectations—and his control. For their first rendition of Rene Belloq, Hasbro chose the final appearance of the mercenary archaeologist, and like the Ark, it turns out to be much more than expected. Indiana Jones Collectors Review: Indiana Jones with the Crystal Skull Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull brings us an Indy that is as sly and daring as before. Age hasn’t slowed him down, and the forces of evil are just as strong even if the faces have changed. Leaving behind an era of Christian relics, Indiana now finds himself in search of a very alien-esque artifact that can harness the psychic powers of the mind. Of course, he must find it before the Soviets do. With such a compelling story, it would be foolish to exclude a figure of Indy carrying this particular prize. Fortunately, Hasbro gave us such a figure in its inaugural Crystal Skull wave. With the Crystal Skull of Akator in hand, this figure shows us just how much and how little the years have changed Indiana Jones. Click here or the images below to read the review!

Indiana Jones Collectors Review: Irina Spalko (Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) Nearly as memorable as Indiana Jones and his adventures are the formidable villains he has confronted during his cinematic quests. First, there was Indy’s professional rival and greatest adversary, the amoral curator-turned-mercenary Rene Belloq. Then came the sadistic Thuggee priest Mola Ram. Finally, there was the power-hungry Nazi sympathizer Walter Donovan. All were unique and presented Indy with different physical and psychological challenges. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is no different. In addition to bringing Indy out of the pre-war years and into the early years of the Cold War, this adventure pits our hero against Soviet agent Irina Spalko, a villainess with her own brand of evil and a fixation on the potential for psychic powers as a Soviet weapon. By all accounts, Spalko is poised to be one of Indy’s greatest challenges yet. Click here or the images below to read the review!

Raiders of the Toy Box - Indiana Jones action figure movie! (Source: YouTube.com)
The classic truck chase from Raiders, as performed with action
figures. I bought these toys last Thursday May 1st, and made this
movie in 3 days all by myself.
Indiana Jones Collectors Review: Indiana Jones with Temple Idol (Raiders of the Lost Ark) In addition to the theatrical and television debuts of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the massive multimedia event Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, this Memorial Day will see the long-awaited return of cinema’s most iconic adventurer. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull brings Junior into the Cold War years, older but still as daring as ever. Of course, as with any fantasy summer blockbuster, the merchandising machine always thunders full speed ahead in the weeks leading up to the film’s release, setting the stage for record-breaking profits. For Indiana Jones, the largest and most anticipated element of the Lucasfilm marketing goliath is the premiere of Hasbro’s saga-encompassing toy line. Already dominating the Star Wars toy universe, the natural expectation is that Hasbro will harness that experience and bring all of their strengths (and few of their weaknesses) to this new realm. The question is, though, can they do it? Preview Night aside, this review will be the first of many to analyze Hasbro’s offerings. Like our hero, we will embark on our own quest to discover the answer to that question. Click here or the images below to read the review!
Indiana Jones Collectors Review: “Taters of the Lost Ark” (Mr. Potato Head) On May 1, 2008, the Indiana Jones marketing machine kicks into high gear, and the merchandising bonanza will begin. Naturally, Indiana Jones Collectors will be here to bring you a variety of in-depth reviews. Those of you who are also regular visitors to our companion site Yodasnews.com already know what to expect. In honor of the official release of all things Indiana Jones, we are pleased to bring you a special “Preview Night” product review—the Indiana Jones Mr. Potato Head, affectionately dubbed “Taters of the Lost Ark”!! Shia Hosts LEGO Indy Mini-Movie May 10th! (Source: TheRaider.net by Mitchell Hallock)
The folks at LEGO are sending LEGO Indy off on the high road to adventure in style with a premiere of a full-length CGI "mini-movie" featuring LEGO Indy, and hosted by Kingdom of the Crystal Skull star, Shia LaBeouf. Similar to the Star Wars LEGO mini-movie Revenge of the Brick this will be a great way to get fans ready for the new LEGO game that will be coming out on all systems in June.
While fans have seen clips of the action in the game so far from the game trailer that recreates the famous opening of Indiana Jones trekking through the Peruvian jungle in 1936 looking for the danger -filled temple that holds the golden fertility idol, this will be much longer and in four parts.
Raiders of the Lost Brick, is slated to premiere as a commercial event within the Cartoon Network Toonami(TM) programming block Saturday, May 10 at 9 p.m. The event, running over four minutes in length, will be hosted by Shia LaBeouf, star of the much-anticipated feature film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Leading up to the mini-movie premiere, Cartoon Network will promote the event through custom on-air spots and online elements at CartoonNetwork.com. Visitors to the Website will get a sneak peek of the on-air event by checking out part one of the mini movie, debuting on the site the week of April 28.
The following week, part two will be posted to view, with the full-length mini movie available online following the on-air premiere. In addition, Cartoon Network.com will feature a custom gaming opportunity that features three levels of a LEGO Indiana Jones online game building in difficulty, one level per week, starting April 28.
For more information, or to view the first two blocks of the film before the full-length premiere, visit CartoonNetwork.com/LEGOIndianaJones starting April 28. To see LEGO Indiana Jones products, including the four new sets available starting May 1, get fun downloads like wallpaper and screen savers or play a game, visit www.indianajones.LEGO.com.

New IndyShop Exclusives Launch Today! (Posted at StarWars.com)
IndianaJonesShop launches
three new exclusive items today,
including an all-new
Indiana Jones
Short Round Character Key, a set of vintage Temple of Doom
lobby cards, and a very rare '80s THX Indiana Jones poster! See the
item descriptions below for details --
An IndianaJonesShop exclusive, the Short Round Character Key is limited to just 750 pieces worldwide, making it more rare than many editions released in the popular Star Wars series of Character Keys (even the debut Indy key had an edition size of 1,000!). Short Round has been reproduced on a clear acetate cel which "floats" above the illustrated backing board displaying the character's unique color set, stats, and various sketches. The matte measures 6" x 8" and the artwork is approximately 4" x 6". The edition number is printed on a chrome metal plaque and an IndianaJonesShop-branded certificate of authenticity is included.
Recently discovered among a stash of other vintage advertising materials housed in Lucasfilm's archives, this set of eight 11x14 inch lobby cards from the second Indy adventure depict several great scenes from the movie, and are still housed in the original plastic sleeves issued from the printer. Complete lobby card sets are traditionally much harder to find than the original release poster accompanying a movie's release, so don't miss this great opportunity to pick up a rare and limited collectible!
Back when it was still called "Lucasfilm Ltd. THX Sound System" in the mid-'80s, select theaters which housed the state-of-the-art THX hardware got to display this rare one-sheet in their lobbies, touting the many advantages of the THX theatrical experience. What makes this particular one-sheet extra special, though, is the inclusion of 1984's Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in the poster's artwork -- that's Indy and Willie Scott making their getaway in the film's Shanghai sequence on screen, which is repeated in the film frames reproduced at upper right (we're guessing this poster either accompanied the theatrical run of Temple of Doom in 1984 or was released shortly thereafter). This rare theatrical one-sheet, which measures 27x39.5 inches and comes rolled, represents a piece of cinematic history which would look fantastic framed up in your home theater. And the Indiana Jones content makes this specific THX poster particularly desirable. These are available in EXTREMELY limited quantities and aren't expected to last long, so make sure to pick up yours today! Head on over the all-new IndianaJonesShop for these and more great Indiana Jones collectibles!
